Williston, N.D. - Williston Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) President Anna Nelson and Vice Chair Chelsea Ridge joined the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce (FMWFCC) on a trip to Washington, DC to strengthen east/west ties and take advocacy efforts to the nation’s capital.

The agenda included meetings with the full congressional delegations from North Dakota and Minnesota, the Army National Guard and Air National Guard, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. These meetings allowed Chamber and business leaders to discuss myriad topics important to the state and the region, including immigration, agriculture, energy, commerce, workforce, and the economy.

“Thank you to the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce for extending the invitation to us, their friends in the west, on this important trip,” says Nelson, “it afforded us an incredible opportunity to not only make connections with business leaders from across the state but also with our congressional delegation and other leaders and partners in Washington, DC where we could discuss the priorities, challenges, and opportunities in western North Dakota.”

Ridge adds, “The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce very much appreciates the FMWF Chamber for their statewide collaboration and to our ND and MN delegation for their service and partnership. The future is bright for ND and we hope to expand statewide collaboration with our members and partners.”

The WACC plans to continue this partnership and extend the invitation to its members to join cohorts on future fly-ins.
